Join us for presentations on breakthrough discoveries and thought leadership on the Future of Automation: AI Applied to the Physical World hosted by Texas Robotics. Texas Robotics includes 16 core faculty and 40 affiliated faculty members from 4 top-ranked departments at UT Austin, producing innovative and groundbreaking research that solves pressing societal challenges in numerous application areas, including social, surgical, vehicles, drilling, manufacturing, space, nuclear, and defense.

Parking Procedures:

Parking validation will be available for request at the Check-In table. These are valid for the Speedway Garage or the 27th Street Garage. Parking at Speedway Garage typically fills up around to 11 am. 

Please pull a ticket when you arrive at the garage. You will scan the pulled ticket followed by the validation at the garage as you leave. 

*Parking is not available for students

 

Event Arrival:

Doors will open at 8:00 am. Please arrive and check in before 9:00 am to grab coffee, breakfast, and a seat prior to the event start. 

The event will take place in the 2.410 ballroom of the Wiliam C. Powers Student Activity Center. When arriving to the building, proceed up the elevator or stairs to the north side of the building to reach the ballroom. Map of campus.

 

Coffee, Lunch, and Happy Hour 

Breakfast, coffee, and lunch will be served in the ballroom at the event. 

 

A post-event Deep Tech in Austin happy hour will be hosted by ACME at the Electric Shuffle.

Welcome and opening statements, Video welcome from President Hartzell and event introduction from Dr. Peter Stone. 

9:30 am -10:30 am 

Robotics faculty talks, 15 minutes each. Featuring Dr. Adam Klivans on AI in Robotics, Dr. Farshid Alambeigi on Medical Robotics, Dr. Mitch Pryor on Autonomous Robotics, and Dr. Luis Sentis on Humanoid Robotics.

10:45 am -11:30 am 

Prototype to Production: Texas Robotics Startup Panel. Featuring Dr. Andrea Tomaz from Diligent Robotics, Connor Crawford from Pike Robotics, Jeff Cardenas from Apptronik, Will Wilder from Wilder Systems, and Dr. Youngmok Yun from Contoro Robotics. Moderated by Jennifer Gill Roberts from Grtt Ventures.

11:30 am - 12:15 am

Powering Innovation: Industry Affiliate Program Partnership Discussion Panel. Featuring Dr. Adam Fineberg representing Amazon, Amir Husain representing Spark Cognition, Dr. David Jung representing Yaskawa, Justin Taylor representing Lockheed Martin, and Xiaoming Yin representing Lockheed Martin. Moderated by Dr. Sridevi Rao Managing Director of Texas Robotics.
