Texas Regional Robotics Symposium 2022
The Texas Regional Robotics Symposium was hosted by Texas Robotics this year!
Amidst a global pandemic, Yuke Zhu and Joydeep Biswas spearheaded their idea to create a research symposium for academics across the state of Texas. Following the example of established regional conferences TEROS recruited graduate students, Josh Hoffman and Yifeng Zhu, for the symposium committee. The committee chairs designed a robust schedule of speakers and networking opportunities to welcome visitors from across nine academic institutions. After months of planning, 100 in-person attendees, as well as dozens of virtual attendees took part in TEROS 2022. To round out their work this year, the committee is working on ideas for improvement and growth in the years ahead. Kudos to the TEROS 2022 team.
Thanks to everyone who attended the inaugural Texas Regional Robotics Symposium (TEROS) on April 29th. We had four fantastic keynote speakers: Lydia Kavraki (Rice), Ken Fleischmann (UT Austin), Robin Murphy (Texas A&M), and Mary Hayhoe (UT Austin), along with an engaging poster session, great spotlight talks featuring faculty from across Texas, and tours of Anna Hiss Gymnasium. We are planning on making this an annual event and engaging other universities in Texas to play the role of host each year. Additional thanks to our organizers, Yuke Zhu, Joydeep Biswas, Michelle Garel, Yifeng Zhu, and Josh Hoffman for bringing us this fantastic event.
