Texas Robotics Communications Student Worker
In this position, you'll carry out various tasks and support for the Texas Robotics consortium. The majority of Texas Robotics operations are located in Anna Hiss Gymnasium (AHG), although you may find yourself completing work in GDC and/or other buildings on campus.
This position has a lot of opportunities to expand your skills, knowledge, and ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders including students, staff, faculty, industry affiliates, and community members. It's suited for someone who likes customer service, event logistics, problem-solving, marketing, and writing. And has the ability to work independently as well as on a team, multi-task, create and document work processes, and stay organized.
Tasks may include:

Assisting or leading tours of AHG, as well as welcoming visitors to the building

Event Photography
-
Printing and maintaining marketing material

Managing digital event signage, and creating updates for monitors within AHG

Creating marketing materials through Canva and/or InDesign
-
Posting on Social Media, including but not limited to Instagram and Twitter

Assisting with general event and Texas Robotics needs
Your duties are likely to evolve as you gain experience within the building and consortium. This is a long-term opportunity that will lead into future semesters (depending on performance). Please note that your weekly hours might vary over the semester depending on workload and event schedules.
Qualifications

Must be a current student at the University of Texas at Austin.

Must be available to work for a couple hours on Wednesdays or Thursdays.

The position is well-suited for a person who is productive, creative, resourceful, and customer service-oriented. We'd like you to be someone who enjoys learning, designing, communicating, and is hard-working.

This role may involve lifting objects up to 25 pounds

Workers must be punctual.
Preferred qualifications: Experience with Excel, Photography, Microsoft Word, Power Point, Box, Canva, Social Media, and Google Docs. Interest in Robotics, marketing, and event planning is preferred.
Time Commitment: 9-12 hours per week, with the potential for increased hours during busy times.
Salary: $12.00 per hour.
Texas Robotics Administrative Student Worker
In this position, you'll carry out various tasks and support for the Texas Robotics consortium. The majority of Texas Robotics operations are located in Anna Hiss Gymnasium (AHG), although you may find yourself completing work in GDC and/or other buildings on campus.
This position has a lot of opportunities to expand your skills, knowledge, and ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders including students, staff, faculty, industry affiliates, and community members. It's suited for someone who likes customer service, event logistics, problem-solving, marketing, and writing. And has the ability to work independently as well as on a team, multi-task, create and document work processes, and stay organized.
Tasks may include:
- Assisting or leading tours of AHG, as well as welcoming visitors to the building
- Creating event documents such as budgets, invoices, name tags, layouts, etc.
- Creating and sending out event emails to students, faculty, and staff
- Assisting with general event and Texas Robotics needs
- Assisting in administrative projects for Texas Robotics consortium
- Coordinating with on campus organizations, including primarily the Texas Robotics Graduate Students
- Setting up and tearing down TX Robotics events. This could include moving tables/chairs, moving boxes or other event collateral, accepting catering deliveries, setting out catering, clearing up after the event.
